The Mill Creek School will permanently close on June 12, 2026. After 54 years of providing adolescents facing personal, emotional, and educational challenges with a therapeutic learning environment, The Mill Creek School will say goodbye to its final graduating class of seniors.
The Mill Creek School at PHMC is proud to have been a premier independent private school since 1972, and to support student success through a supportive and caring environment. Many alumni have gone on to have successful careers and independent lives. We wish all members of the Mill Creek community continued success in the future.

Empowering students’ self-expression and providing nurturing support through a unique learning experience.
The Mill Creek School is a fully licensed educational program, accredited by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey, serving students in grades 7 through 12.
For more than 50 years, we have provided a comprehensive academic curriculum tailored to the needs of students, with a steadfast commitment to supporting those facing mental health and emotional challenges, such as mood disorders and anxiety, which may hinder their success in traditional school settings.
Our caring and dedicated staff, comprised of highly qualified professionals, create a nurturing environment that empowers students to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

College, Career & Transition Support
Transition counseling is a cornerstone of our commitment to preparing students for a fulfilling future. Dedicated counselors work closely with each student to explore their unique interests, strengths and aspirations – guiding them toward meaningful goals and potential career paths.

School-Based Counseling
School-based counseling helps students learn how to manage conflicts and social challenges within the school and home. They are provided the tools and resources to better understand social cues, read body language, express thoughts and feelings, and much more.

Music, Arts & Wellness
Our thoughtfully designed, evidence-based music and arts programs and newly designed exercise room support students in a myriad of ways. Research shows that participating in music, art and physical education reduces stress, builds confidence, improves social skills and helps with processing emotions.

Family Program
We recognize the unique challenges parents and guardians raising children who struggle with academic and emotional difficulties may face. Our Family Program creates an additional layer of support, through family and service provider collaborations.
